Students should independently answer the following essay question:
How did the geographical features of the United States contribute to the causes of the Civil War?
Methods:
Custom Categories may be created by the teacher using this software to design lessons to focus on specific data. Instructions are included on page 29 of the Teachers Manual on how to make Custom Categories.
Assign students the tasks of creating a Custom Categories file and a Custom Categories Map. Students should then write a lesson plan to accompany their new category.
