1. Students will understand the role of women and minorities in the California Gold Rush by describing the contributions of women, African Americans, Chinese, Japanese, Mexicans and other immigrants to the Gold Rush.
2. Students will understand the impact of the Gold Rush on these groups by describing what life was like during the Gold Rush for them.
