Students should access the Excel spreadsheet entitled Population Changes in North America broken down by race - 1610-1780. Have students graph (raw data or percent change) how the population grew according to race. Students should write a paragraph comparing and contrasting their conclusions about the black and white populations based on their chart. In the paragraph, students should also address the following question: based on what you know about American history, what economic consequences did these changes in population have in terms of race?
