     Project Title: Using Electronic Technologies to Strengthen Global Perspectives Through
     Cross-Cultural Learning, Primary Resources, and Access to New Scholarship

    Description: Developed through the collaboration of Ohio State University’s the College
    of Education’s Program in Social Studies and Global Education and Ohio State’s five
    area studies centers, the project included
    (a) The development of 60 online modules with over 3000 resources that make
     substantive content on world cultures and global issues electronically accessible to
     teachers.
    (b) The development of an online course entitled “Teaching World Cultures and
     Global Issues” that supports practicing teachers working with people from diverse
     world regions as they learn from the content of the modules and use the new
     knowledge and resources to strengthen their understanding and teaching of the
     world and its peoples.
   
(c) A study of how classroom teachers selected and used web-based resources and
     pedagogies to teach about world cultures and how interaction with people from other
     world regions influenced their thinking and instructional decision-making.
