The Impact project is an inter-institutional collaborative effort among social
studies
educators across the county. Started in 1997, the Impact
Project continues to develop
and evaluate materials that best promote the seamless
integration of technology into
social studies teacher education.
The goal of the Impact Project is to facilitate and accelerate change in the
nation's teacher
education programs, encouraging university faculty to
incorporate appropriate uses of
technology in teacher preparation programs. The
Impact Project promotes appropriate
uses of technology in specific content areas. While
the Impact Project targets faculty
members who prepare teachers, the materials developed
may be used by practicing
teachers.
