 Materials:

 Procedures:

  1. Begin by describing to students that they will be investigating geometric transformations, starting with reflections.  Give each student (or pair) the Investigation Reflections Worksheet and have them begin investigating reflections on Geometer’s Sketchpadâ.  Have students record their answers on their sheets to be turned in when they have completed the investigation.

  2. Once all students are finished, have a class discussion about reflections and their properties using what they learned in the investigation.  Go over the worksheet, covering the important questions that are asked to make sure that all students understand.  Give each student the “Reflection?” worksheet.  Have them work with a partner to do the two problems and then discuss them as a class.

  3. As students begin to hand-in their worksheets, give each student the assignment sheet.  Have students begin to work on their assignment.

 Assessment:
Students should be assessed on their completion of the worksheet, on their participation and how well they worked during class time. Students should also be graded on their assignment.
